Just a few short video samples
A Taste of Summer: Video Clips from Warmer Days Summer 2019 and Beyond
We have gathered a few short videos to share here, just snippets from recent live performances. The first one, above displays ready-to-play.
The First Video of these five videos, Above, is from the Tall Ships Celebration at Bay City, Michigan last summer, July 2019. Remember that weekend? The oppressive heat finally broke on Saturday night with a thunderstorm that cleared the Festival Grounds a couple of hours early. This video, of “The Erie Canal” was taken on Sunday morning, as grateful tall ship revelers returned to view the ships docked along the River in Bay City, Michigan.
This video features a special guest.

Next up, This very special excerpt, just a chorus from “The Great Lakes Song” (written by Pat Dailey) and filmed from the Crews Galley of the now-retired US Coast Guard Cutter Mackinaw, WAGB-83, which is now a Museum ship, docked in Mackinac City, Michigan.
As part of our Michigan Coastal Tour in September 2019, we were able to schedule an after-hours concert in the Galley. The ship is undergoing restoration, and is open to the public during the summer season. Joann and I were lucky enough to be guests on one of the final icebreaking runs of this legendary ship, back in March 2008.
I have already received several requests to include this song in one of our “Shelter-in-Place” concerts, to be produced soon. Watch this space (my blog pages at LeeMurdock.com )

And Here’s one for my local friends … This was taken at the Fox Valley Folk Festival on Island Park in Geneva, Illinois, September 2019. Joann shot the first verse of my performance of “Requiem for the Mesquite.” She was filming from behind the workshop stage, so you can scan the audience to see many of our good friends who were in attendance that day. Who knew it would come in handy in these days of social distancing?
Also on that stage are Michael Smith and John Gorka, in a songwriters in the round song swap.

Since we’re on a roll, here is a video from Ludington State Park … Summer performance indoors at the Bathhouse on the Beach. Again, just a teaser.
